- Acer palmatum ‘Shaina,’ an ultradwarf maple. The foliage stays this color all year until the leaves fall.
- Brunnera and Penstemon ‘Husker Red.’ The variegated brunneras have lovely foliage, but the species has the best flowers.
- Weeping Siberian pea tree. Soon it will have small yellow flowers all along the branches.
- At upper right, a dark heuchera. In the center, a spring wildflower, shooting stars. And at upper right, the blooms of Virginia Bluebells.
- These two dark heucheras (coral bells) look great from a distance, but up close they are just different enough that they probably shouldn’t have been put side by side.
- Front border
- Thuja ‘Teddy Bear’ – This lovely little conifer is only about 12″ tall and wide.
- Daphne ‘Carol Mackie,’ nestled in creeping Charlie and dandelions (sigh)
- Polygonatum variegatum – Variegated Solomon’s Seal
- I’ve forgotten what these are. Will update the caption if someone can ID it.
